Write, Read, Achieve Power: Literacy Project

Write, Read, Achieve Power: The Literacy Project strengthens other programs dedicated to raising the literacy level in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Some of our projects included:

  • A writing and logo contest for New Brunswick Students in which 500 students participated

  • Reading to preschool children 

  • Literacy Training Programs for Rutgers students who tutor New Brunswick children

  • Parent Literacy workshops

  • Donating Books to local organizations like Elijah’s Promise and the Harmony Family Success Center

  • Providing funds for a coordinator at Youth Empowerment Services to run a summer reading program and for a field trip experience

  • Providing funds for a Language Arts teacher at the Ebenezer Community Economic Development Corp. for their summer camp program

  • Donating bilingual books to parents of Tiny Tots at the Prab summer program.

  • Donating healthy food children books to Elijah’s Promise’s Kids Let’s Cook Program.

  • A Sunday Church service and reception to honor New Brunswick Educators

  • Donated test prep books to the Urban Renewal Project

  • Provided hotspots for New Brunswick elementary school children for digital learning.

  • Funded an ESL reading program to help teachers with instruction.

  • Purchased books for The Covid-19 Literacy Relief Project
